Viña Paul 2009 “I just don’t get it”

Viña Paul 2009Name: Viña Paul 2009

Price: 3,00 € at a shop in the neighborhood

Origin: D.O. Rioja

Winery: Made for Williams & Humbert S.A.

Score: low 2

I don’t understand how a traditional, prestigious and historically successful winery as Williams & Humbert can produce (or select) a wine like this. It’s got an ugly name and a dark presentation. When shaken to intensify its bouquet, it gives off only dirty and unpleasant “smells”. The acid tone in the mouth is better, but not up to the minimum desirable standard. Undrinkable for me, but I can see that some people may like it (this is for the one who chose it)… could it be that they don’t know any other wine?

Bad wine exist everywhere, we

only have to know where they

are so that we can avoid them

BAD WINE: A wine that, at a specific moment or after tasting a particular vintage, makes me wish not to buy it again, because of its quality, its faults or the fact that its price is excessively high if compared to other wines in the market.
